Opened in 2006,the Kempinski Hotel Shenzhen’s Nanshan district is adeluxe.

When it first opened it was surrounded by construction sites and was not a particularly pleasant area ,but this China and thing changes quickly .

Now there is a large upscale shopping mall .an in-door skating rink.Poly Theatre,a 1700seat futuristic auditorium and lots of upscale residential high rises.Shenzhen Bay Bridge which links city to Hongkong is a five minute drive and a subway line will open in 2010.

The Hotel’s exterior is high-rise and not especially not worthy so one is taken aback by the breathtaking circular loby with a massive glass gold and red object shandlier hanging from the ceiling .

It resembles a giant stylized torch .This motif is repeated throghout the lobby.
